I'm back in BC, and this time to stay! We're still getting settled and we haven't moved into our place yet so I'll make this short, but I must say I'm pretty smitten this place already. It has been totally different being here with the intention of staying, as opposed to the million times I've visited in the past few years. I really wasn't sure how I would feel about moving back because even though New York was not an easy place to live some aspects of our life there were incredibly hard to leave.
On my second day here I ran into Kim from Unwind at the Sunshine Coast mini-maker-faire and today I went to her new-to-me shop location in Roberts Creek. It's such a lovely space. I can't wait for the Sunday socials that she's going to be hosting starting the end of June - her outside space is so inviting. I'll be there with my 16" Mirrix.
I came back with plenty of time to prepare for all my summer workshops from my new in-home studio which in itself is the size of our New York apartment (I so want to be writing in caps right now. It has a wood-burning fire place!!!). Below are the workshops that still have space in them. Come play with me!

Janna Maria Vallee
Hi, I'm Janna. I'm the owner and natural dyer at Everlea Yarn. I am also a tapestry weaver, longtime knitter and 2013 graduate of Concordia University's Fibres and Material Practices program.
I founded Vancouver Yarn in 2008 as a single space to hold all the textile awesomeness Vancouver (and beyond) offers. In 2010 I moved away from BC and was (a bit) absent here until I returned in 2016. Here on the VY blog I mostly share about local events and other local artists and crafters.
