NOV 8TH 2008-FEB 15 2009 Travis Meinolf of San Francisco is collaborating
with Kai Althoff at the VAG by creating The Weaving Place: an inviting atmosphere of weaving where you will find tools that
you are encouraged to pick up and learn to use. The scarf-like finished pieces will be being stitched together on scene to
create blankets for people in our city that are in need . The VAG is recruiting volunteers to come and learn how to use the looms (which are very simple) and then be a part
of the installation by weaving and inviting patrons to learn as well. VOLUNTEER INFO: To
volunteer call Sherry Stewart 604-662-4708
If you are planning on visiting this exhibition feel free to bring
your needles and yarn and (dare I suggest) make a knit-out of it. Any knitted
or crocheted pieces will be greatly appreciated as additions to the blankets. The format is open so don't worry
to much about specific size.

De-stash your yarn at the Vancouver Art Gallery! The VAG and artist Travis Meinnolf greatly appreciate any wool and
cotton yarn donations to be used in the Weaving Place exibition. Please bring your donations to security on the ground
floor.
