Are you ready to party?

As you may have heard, Knit City Vancouver is cancelled this year (as expected), and the Knit Social ladies decided not to organize a virtual marketplace. I understand how they came to the decision and respect it.

BUT... I was disappointed. I don't do a lot of shows like many vendors do. And Knit City is the one I always look forward to. It's not just for selling my yarn, but reuniting customers and other vendors, and meeting new customers are all part of the experience.
SO, as someone who couldn't take "no" as an answer, I decided to organize an online event myself. It's called Fibre Love Affair!
Introducing Fibre Love Affair
Fibre Love Affair is happening on October 3 and 4. It is a collection of virtual live-streaming trunk shows by 26 vendors. Most of trunk shows are delivered over Zoom, and link to each trunk show will be posted on the schedule page of our website by the end of September.
Admission is free. But for a security measure, I ask you to register your e-mail address to get a password. The password works for all trunk shows on Zoom, and you can get it here:
https://mailchi.mp/.../fibre-love-affair-customer...

In Addition to trunk shows, we are planning to have 2 stitch nights (Friday and Sunday at 8pm Pacific Time) and yoga sessions. There will be also a bingo game you could play for a chance to win $100 CDN shop credit from a vendor of your choice!
Interested? Our website is still under construction as of this writing. But most of vendors are up. So, please visit www.FibreLoveAffair.ca and look around!

If you want to hear more about the show, please sign up for our newsletter at the registration link above, or
follow us on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/FibreLoveAffair/
or Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/fibreloveaffair/

I would also appreciate it if you could help me spread the word by forwarding this info to anyone who may be interested in the show.

I hope to see you at Fibre Love Affair!
Yoriko Oki

About the Everlea Guide to Vancouver Yarn

Hi, I'm Janna. I'm the proprietor, maker and natural dyer at Everlea Looms. I am a tapestry weaver, longtime knitter and 2013 graduate of Concordia University's Fibres and Material Practices program.

In 2008 I created Vancouver Yarn as a space to hold as much of the textile awesomeness that I could find in and around Vancouver. Here on the VY blog I mostly share about local events. It soon grew to include all the places you can shop for yarny things online in Canada.

Do you have an event you'd like me to post? Simply email me at
    janna (at) everleayarn.ca

    Thank you,
    Janna

Vancouver Yarn is a free resource which links you to local DIY textile shops and designers as well as artists and makers which are local to greater Vancouver BC, unceded Coast Salish territory, and throughout so-called British Columbia. I also list online shops and designers from around the country.

Many of my links come from your submissions - Thank you! If you tell me about a dyer, designer, shop etc I will add it.
