Embroidery Workshop with Sadie Gilker: 6pm
GA Doors (Bring your own craft!): 7pm Show: 7:30pm All Ages with 19+ bar Craft Club Cinema this month is a romantic and drama-filled screening of Sense and Sensibility. Come and watch the Dashwood sisters contend with regency-era England while knitting, sketching, cross stitching, or any crafts you're enjoying. We'll keep the house lights soft and will have some lamps scattered throughout the venue, but feel free to bring your own book lights. Whether you're a dedicated maker, trying out a new hobby, or just craving a relaxed, communal night with fellow crafters, Craft Club Cinema is designed to help you slow down, connect, and enjoy a unique experience in the Hollywood Theatre. Not sure what to make? Want to learn something new? We got you. Purchase a workshop ticket for a hands-on embroidery workshop before the show led by local artist and educator Sadie Gilker (they/she). For this workshop, Sadie will be guiding workshop participants through a Regency-era embroidery sampler, adapted from early 19th-century needlework patterns. Come make a fully functional Jane Austen-era handkerchief! Or keep it in the hoop to decorate your home. All materials are provided. Spots are limited! Sadie Gilker is an avid embroiderer, painter, and designer whose practice explores texture, memory, and the natural world. With over 10 years of embroidery experience and a teaching approach rooted in sustainability and collective care, Sadie creates a welcoming space for all skill levels." Comments are closed.

About the Everlea Guide to Vancouver Yarn Hi, I'm Janna. I'm the proprietor, maker and natural dyer at Everlea Looms. I am a tapestry weaver, longtime knitter and 2013 graduate of Concordia University's Fibres and Material Practices program. In 2008 I created Vancouver Yarn as a space to hold as much of the textile awesomeness that I could find in and around Vancouver. Here on the VY blog I mostly share about local events. It soon grew to include all the places you can shop for yarny things online in Canada. Do you have an event you'd like me to post? Simply email me at janna (at) everleayarn.ca Thank you, Janna Archives
