I've been meaning to create this post for a while and for some reason it's hard for me. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think a part of it is that sometimes self promotion is not easy. So, I'm coming back to Van for August to teach some workshops and hang with friends and fam :) I'll be spending most of the time on the Sunshine Coast where I'm from, hopefully soaking up a lot of sun on the beach. It's obviously super summery here in Montreal, but what is hot weather without a nearby beach?! Sticky and tiring (I'm such a complainer). I'm also planning on doing some art installations while I'm there and making another doll with my aunt Franca :) Workshops! There are 4 to be had: Two on the Sunshine Coast at Unwind Knit and Fibre Lounge, Natural Dyeing and Printing and of course Indigo Dyeing again, and two at The Window Community Art Shop in Van: Natural Dyeing and Printing and Beginner Knitting. The Window has a selection of my silk scarves (above) for sale which are great immersion dyeing and shibori examples for those of you who are curious about the dyeing workshop. Click the links to see class descriptions for each on my website. They are all going to be so much fun! I've been growing dye plants this past year in the greenhouse at Concordia during the winter, and recently with some friends outside Articule in their new garden space, as well at our new apartment. I've never had much of a green thumb even though my parents have always had an amazing garden. I guess it took this special interest to get me into it. I definitely see myself doing vegetables in the future. Comments are closed.
