12/14/2011 Groovy Boots at Station St.Henri
12/9/2011 paper macheI've been noticing a lot of paper mache things on the interweb these days. Could be because I recently made a giant teapot out of the stuff for a group project in school, but funnily enough the ones I've noticed have more than the main media in common where all have been painted gold, like this bowl or the super cool gold nugget-esque ring (as seen above) by Vancouver's Fluur. My teapot has faux gold leaf too :)
Remember how to make the classic paper mache paste? I find that 1 cup of flour to 2.25 cups of water makes the perfect consistency. Before making the teapot it had been a couple decades since my last paper mache project so I was super suprised at how sturdy the finished product was. Find more info on how to paper mache here. 12/4/2011 pretty cowMy dear friend Annalie Young who is a very talented photographer maintains a blog here where she showcases her work; wedding, personal as well as some really great creative stuff (well, it's all creative), like this week's advent calendar which she made herself from her personal stash of origami paper. I love that her blog is full of beautiful images of varying nature, all of which belong to her. Right now my fave is this diptych of a cow she met in the Netherlands at the beginning of the year.
