Janna Maria first learned how to weave tapestry in 2008 during a two-year technical textile diploma program at Capilano University. She continued her studies in tapestry and natural dyeing while finishing her Fibres and Materials Practices degree at Concordia University, and in 2014 committed to weaving full time. Her subject matter is relationship and place-based, and her materials are consciously sourced wool Everlea Yarn which she dyes herself with plants. |

Vancouver Yarn is a free resource which links you to local DIY textile shops and designers as well as artists and makers which are local to greater Vancouver BC, unceded Coast Salish territory, and throughout so-called British Columbia. I also list online shops and designers from around the country.
Many of my links come from your submissions - Thank you! If you tell me about a dyer, designer, shop etc I will add it.
